Join the St. Scholastica Giving Circle
St. Scholastica is the Founder of Benedictine monasticism for women. We invite you to join the St. Scholastica Giving Circle by becoming a regular weekly or monthly donor to provide the Monastery with a reliable cash flow. Circle members are invited to special gatherings, receive a prayer card and annual birthday greetings, and are included in the daily prayers of the sisters.
The Bussell Family Story
By Meg Bussell
We are friends of the Sisters of Benet Hill Monastery and have been for many years; but our connectedness with Benet Hill and the sisters has undergone transformation, as has our family.
Natasha, our daughter, is a Sergeant in the Marines and living in California. Julia is now a nursing assistant at the monastery. Peter has moved to Arizona and often asks how the sisters are doing. Olga lives in Washington State and is Specialist 4 in the Army. Nicoli lives locally and has become independent from the family. Jessica is a student at Pikes Peak Community College and works part-time at a local restaurant.
Now we are attending Sunday services as a couple, and we once again can spend time focusing on our faith journey. This last year we enjoyed Friday game nights at the monastery and the sisters celebrated Jessica’s graduation from high school with us.
Pat and I felt the stirring to learn more about the Benedictine way of life, so this spring we began the Oblate Candidate Program. We are excited about this new opportunity to learn more about the Benedictine way of life. We have grown stronger as a family and with the community at Benet Hill Monastery because of our relationship.
