Get to know Sister Marguerite Richmeier, OSB

Birthday: November 22

Sister Marguerite Richmeier was born November 22, 1920 in St. Peters, Kansas and began her formal training for Benedictine life in 1930 in Mounty St. Scholastica Convent in Atchison, Kansas. She and her sister, Angeline, made their vowed commitments August 5, 1931 and in 1954 both participated in the solemn ceremony of Consecration of Virgins at Mount St. Scholastica.

In 1965 she and Sister Angeline, now deceased, became charter members of the newly created Benedictine Priory of Colorado Springs.

During her years of teaching she taught in Nebraska, Missouri, Kansas and Colorado. At the time of her death she was survived by four brothers, Michael, Fred, William, Clem and John Richmeier and one niece Florence Still of CA.
