A Pilgrimage with the People of the Amazon

Benet Hill Monastery
& Minga Peru

Who goes on a pilgrimage?

Anyone can go on a pilgrimage! This is a Jubilee year, something that only happens every 25 years. Pope Francis has chosen the Jubilee theme Pilgrims of Hope saying, “Pilgrimage is a fundamental element of every Jubilee event. Setting out on a journey is traditionally associated with our human quest for meaning in life…Journeying from one country to another as if borders no longer mattered, and passing from one city to another in contemplating the beauty of creation…we learn to treasure the richness of different experiences and cultures, and are inspired to lift up that beauty, in prayer, to God, in thanksgiving for his wondrous work.”

The Sisters of Benet Hill Monastery have chosen to offer a 2025 pilgrimage opportunity to our extended community of friends, worshipers, alumnae, oblates, retreatants, spiritual directees – you! We will journey this year, virtually and/or in-person, with the people of the Amazon through a partnership with our good friends at Minga Peru based in Lima, Peru.

What is Minga Peru?

Our friend Barb Faulkenberry will be leading the in-person pilgrimage November 15 – 21, 2025. Watch this video of her presentation at the monastery on March 23, 2025 to learn more about the social impact of Minga Peru and the pilgrimage itinerary.

Registration for the in-person pilgrimage is now over.

Thank you to everyone who expressed interest and signed up! While this opportunity is no longer available, we invite you to stay connected with Benet Hill Monastery through our social media channels.
