Pray with the Sisters
Prayer sustains life and makes each day and every activity holy.
- Sisters pray individually but also as a community based on a schedule
- St. Benedict created the first recorded prayer schedule around 550
- Much later, this prayer schedule was adapted for the realities of modern life and became known as the Liturgy of the Hours
- The Psalter for communal prayer consists of the 150 psalms from the ancient Hebrew scriptures
- Benedictines pray communally in the oratory
Worship with the Sisters
Worship services are special at Benet Hill. The community gathers to greet dear friends and new visitors. The energy in Our Lady of Peace Chapel is palpable. When the bells toll the ancient signal, the chatter subsides and everyone quiets their minds and hearts, ready to worship God.
You are welcome to come just as you are right now. Sunday worship begins at 10:15 am. You are welcome to other worship services that occur too (e.g. Ash Wednesday, Holy Week, Easter, Christmas and New Year’s Eve Taize).
The sisters are honored to offer intercessory prayer for you.
Prayer Request
